-> Come, my loyal followers! Come and let yourself come into my good graces, or be gone! The mare shouted, her vocals echoing through the dense forest, reverberating off of the trees, and returning to her own ears, but she had already turned her back to the sounds. Presently, her head was tucked into the hollow of a fallen tree, investigating a sound that had attracted her royal attention. She found a den of nesting foxes, and received a well aimed swap at her prodding nose from the mother. Snorting, she retracted her nose. No, it had not hurt, but she understood the intent of the swat. She had a mind to tear the tree apart, but that wouldn't be very ladylike would it?
-> Turning her attention from the fallen tree to another, she plucked down a low hanging fruit, hoping it to be an apple. Indeed it was, not quite ripe yet, but an apple all the same. Food was hard to come by, so she took what she could when she could. Above her head, she could hear the chirping of birds, then attempting to match the calls with the owner. She quickly grew tired of the guessing game, and resorted to nibbling her hooves. First, however, she walked over to a small puddle, sipping from it to conserve the resource. Sated for the moment, she wandered over to the burnt oak, first investigating the inside for anymore nesting animals, then turning her rump to it, and plopped down in front of it, nibbling her hoof contentedly while she waited for her herd, or anyone else for that matter, to show up.

[bg=black]
quinn comes from a world of darkness, but not figurative darkness - literal darkness. He had spent his youth trapped in a world where evil had corrupted the sky itself and death had spread a forever-night over his home land. But even in the darkness there had been a certain bright light in Quinn, a blazing flame that never dwindled and died. He had been the lonely bright star against a blanket of black void, there was no dampening the ever shining spirit of Quinn.
He was such a happy boy considering his lonely life, the days and week he had spent with no one but himself and the shadows. But there was no denying that he smiled like the sun now, he smiled for everyone but himself.
He here‘s the cry before he even realises where he is and with his head lifted to the sky he tests the air. The giddy feeling that washed over him was a bizarre mixture of apprehension and excitement and it buzzed to the deepest root of his bones. But Quinn doesn‘t waste any time in pondering what he is feeling, instead he squeals and moves through the forest‘s embrace. The burnt oak was not hard to find, and the lady at its base was even easier.
Quinn pauses at the treeline, his head cocked to the side;"Hello," is all he says at first, stepping forward from the treeline, towards the lady and her tree. She holds herself with such authority, and Quinn seems small and worthless in comparison. But the dreamer smiles anyway, lips ghosting upwards and eyes brightening just a little more. He takes another straying step forward, "I'm Quinn," he pauses, and then: "you have beautiful eyes."
i'd defy all the stars TO CAPTURE YOUR EMBRACE

-> The mare sensed the presence of another, and therefore was already alerted to the whereabouts of the first to approach. However, what she wasn't prepared for was the stunning features of the stallion who approached. Rising to her feet she spoke to the newcomer. Hello, Quinn. I am Italy. The Queen of these lands. She said. Allowing her eyes to cast over his frame, she did like what she saw. Powerful legs, rotund yet still attractive barrel, groomed mane and tail. Oh yes.
-> Her eyes lit up when she was complimented on them, and she grinned, something that she hadn't done in a long time. Why thank you. She said. If she could blush, she would have. You are quite the charmer, Mr. Quinn. She said, her voice chiding yet still playful. You come to be one of the mighty Earthsong, correct? She said. True she should have asked this first, but manners had to be taken care of first, right?
-> As she waited for his answer, she took the time to look at the direction from which he had come. She assumed that since although they were currently in the center of her land, that they would soon be expecting more company. Surely someone had seen him and followed, curious at the least. She hoped dearly that there were no ill-wishers about their current location. She had tried her best to meet the leads of the other herds and at least establish a somewhat positive relationship to keep the lands settled for now. She knew that their relationships would need constant attention, but that was something that she was wiling to agree to.
-> The only thing that she needed was a King to maintain the lands in her absence. Perhaps Quinn would serve in that place, but that was for later times. For now, she had to get to know the stallion before she put him in such a powerful position. Finding herself grinning lightly, she remembered that they had indeed been involved in a conversation and that perhaps it would be best for her to pay attention. It was much like Italy to have conversations and then lose herself in her thoughts as she went.
